Kirk Graystone spent two decades chasing adventure before finding his true calling as a writer.

After years working the oil rigs in the North Sea and Alaska, with stints as a wilderness guide and smoke jumper in between, he settled in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom where he lives with his faithful golden retriever, Ranger.

When not crafting his Sidney Fleet detective series or working on his upcoming Derek Thomas/Nick Napier novels, Graystone can usually be found fly fishing the region's hidden streams or teaching Ranger the finer points of retrieving brook trout.
